PWC Management Team
Eric Good is the Executive Director at Powell Wellness Center (PWC). He joined the PWC team in 2012. Good is a results-focused, quality-driven professional with extensive experience in the hospital retail medical business and operational development. Good has a bachelor of science degree in health and fitness from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and an associate degree in science, physical therapy assistant, cum laude from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, VA.
Prior to joining PWC, Good was the Director at Augusta Health, Lifetime Fitness Center in Fishersville, VA, where he led the launch of a hospital-based medical fitness wellness center; spearheaded a construction and expansion project; and developed and implemented integrated services and wellness programs from hospital disciplines such as cardiac rehab, physical therapy, medical office practices, lab services, and oncology services.
After nearly 17 years at Augusta Health, Good wanted to be part of helping PWC achieve its mission of providing comprehensive rehabilitation and health maintenance services for the physical and emotional well-being of the whole person, including those with compromised health, and improving the overall health of the community.
Danette Askew is Aquatics Manager, joining PWC in July of 2014. Danette has associate of arts and science degrees in business administration and education from Germanna Community College. Previously she was a communication computer systems operator in the Air Force and Aquatics Coordinator at the Warrenton Aquatic & Recreation Facility. Askew is an American Red Cross certified lifeguard instructor and water safety instructor, as well as a certified pool operator.
Askew has over 20 years of experience working at aquatic facilities as a lifeguard, supervisor, swim instructor, swim coach, or aquatics coordinator. Her favorite thing is to work with youth in the community and she has many plans for PWC, including building on the Learn to Swim program, working with schools in the area to teach water safety, and building community awareness around learning to swim and CPR.
As Wellness Coordinator, Patrice Barklund is responsible for health and fitness programming that encourages healthy lifestyles and improved outcomes for both PWC members and the overall community, particularly in the areas identified for health improvement within the most recent Community Health Needs Assessment. Patrice has been with PWC as a Group Fitness Instructor since 2007 and has served as Health Educator and/or Wellness Coordinator since 2013. She has many years of experience working in both fitness and health care settings.
Josh Lemasters is Operations Coordinator at PWC, and has been with the team since May 2007. Lemasters has a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology and recreation studies from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. He holds lifeguard instructor and water safety instructor certifications through the American Red Cross as well as a certified pool operator credential through the National Swimming Pool Foundation.
Lemasters has over 12 years of experience working in recreation and wellness centers in various capacities, such as park interpreter, lifeguard, swim instructor, and assistant manager roles. At PWC, Lemasters is a great team member, and his tireless efforts ensuring the facility is running at its utmost efficiency ensure all members receive the best health and fitness experience possible. Lemasters enjoys being part of helping PWC achieve its mission of improving the overall health of the community.
Front Desk/Retail/Membership Manager
Wendy Powell is Front Desk, Retail and Membership Manager at PWC. Wendy first worked at PWC at its inception from 2007 to 2010 and has returned as of February 2014. Wendy previously worked at CRH from 1996 until present in various departments, including the business office, materials management, emergency department, and medical records. Wendy has over 23 years of experience in the healthcare field and is pleased to be working at PWC to help our members achieve the benefits of regular exercise and physical activity.
